Vivo is one of the last Chinese manufacturers to officially enter the mobile device market in Portugal. As part of the BBK Electronics group, which also includes OPPO and OnePlus, we now have a new Vivo smartphone coming to the global market, namely the model vivo Y55s 5G.
At stake is another generation of the Y55, a name that the manufacturer wants to reinforce and make known to the world, thus adding five iterations of the Vivo Y55 smartpbones. As a curiosity, we remember that the first smartphone with this name, the Vivo Y55s, was launched in 2017 by the brand.
Vivo Launches Global Version of New Vivo Y55s 5G Smartphone
The Vivo Y55s 5G smartphone is the latest model to carry this name and will soon hit global markets at a good value for money. At the moment, it should be noted, we are awaiting confirmation of its debut date in Portugal.
Although its name is almost the same as that of several smartphones from other brands, we have improvements and new technical features for global markets.
The main difference between the previous smartphone with this name and the new model is the battery capacity. In practice, we went from 6,000 mAh to a more elegant 5,000 mAh, which allows us to reduce the profile and thickness of the smartphone.
5G connection, triple camera and Full-HD+ screen are some of its assets for 2023
The Vivo Y55s 5G smartphone has a charging power of 18 W, which is why it is on the threshold of fast charging. However, its profile is now more elegant, with dimensions that add up to 164 x 75.84 x 8.25 mm (height x width x thickness).
On the other hand, its weight of 187 grams is very suitable for the size, height and thickness of the phone. In other words, we have here an elegant phone, with a current design and the front camera housed in the notch in the shape of a drop of water.
As soon as it reaches the national market, this mobile device can be purchased in two color tones, Galaxy Blue, in the images, as well as Black, more discreet.
MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor with up to 6 GB of RAM
The Vivo Y55s 5G smartphone uses the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, a competent mid/low range chipset. It will also have 4GB to 6GB of RAM, sadly without a more generous 8GB of RAM option.
We also have 128 GB of internal storage, a unique configuration and no possibility of expansion via micro SD memory card. In addition, we have Dual SIM 5G connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1 connection, a USB Type-C port, with OTG support, as well as fast FM and, finally, NFC.
The smartphone includes a 50 MP (f/1.8) triple main camera, with two additional 2 MP (f/2.4) cameras on the back. We also have an 8 MP (f/1.8) front camera for selfies and self-portraits.
Lastly, the price of the global version of the Vivo Y55s 5G smartphone is 263 USD or about 241 euros at the current conversion rate for the version with 4 GB of RAM. The version with 6 GB of RAM costs US$ 280, approximately 257 euros at the current exchange rate.
