Don’t expect a Tile tracker that’s compatible with the Google search network

Yesterday, Google’s Find My Device network finally went live in the US and Canada. The global rollout is expected to be completed in the coming months.

With the launch of the network, several brands announced their compatible trackers. However, there is one important omission in the list: tile.

When Google announced the Find My Device network in 2023, the company mentioned Tile as one of the brands that would offer compatible trackers. Although it was expected that Tile would release a network-friendly object finder, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Android Authority reached out to Tile to see if it plans to announce a new compatible tracker. Not only does the company have no plans to announce anything, but it also doesn’t appear to be working on a compatible device at the moment.

When developing and launching our products, we attach great importance to offering our customers the greatest possible added value. We have an excellent working relationship with Google and look forward to future collaborations; However, our current focus is on implementing our vision of a cross-platform solution that enables location-based searches for people, pets and things.

One example of this is the integration of Tile technology into the Life360 map, which also opened the Tile search network to our 66 million Life360 members. With over 36 million members in the United States alone, approximately one in nine smartphone users you find on the street is a Life360 user, demonstrating the broad reach and impact of our platform.

Additionally, Life360 is the only Bluetooth tracker to offer an anti-theft solution, underscoring our commitment to the safety and security of our members’ belongings.

Google’s revamped Find My Device network uses billions of Android devices to locate other Android devices using Bluetooth proximity, similar to Apple’s Find My Network. Not only can it locate devices that are turned off, but it can also warn users about unwanted tracking.
