The “cheap” folding phone from Samsung will come onto the market this year at a very good price

According to the Sisa Journal, Samsung plans to launch a cheaper phone to compete in the growing foldable phone market.

This new foldable phone from Samsung aims to reduce costs by using less advanced technology compared to the soon-to-be-launched Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 flagships. The good news is that the price could be under $800.

Although the report does not give a specific name for this phone, it is speculated that it could be called Galaxy Z Fold6 FE.

In terms of technical specifications, this new folding is expected to have one “Lower quality app processor, screen and battery” compared to flagship devices. Samsung could choose to use the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, designed specifically for cheaper Android phones.

Furthermore, according to Sisa Journal, we can expect it a camera similar to that of the current Galaxy folding phones. This would include a similar design and hardware structure to the Z Flip5 and Z Fold5, with a “dual camera module,” the release says.

Of course, we won’t know for sure until Samsung officially announces this new, cheaper foldable phone, which is expected to happen this summer at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.
