Huawei launches the Sound Joy, a nomadic speaker in Devialet sauce with 26 hours of battery life

Huawei is launching a new connected speaker, the Sound Joy. If the manufacturer had already been spotted in this area with the Sound and Sound X, this time it is a new type of device, since the Sound Joy is a nomadic speaker.

In the radius of small speakers that you can take everywhere with you, we already knew brands like Ultimate Ears, Sonos, JBL, Bose or Marshall. We will now have to rely on a newcomer: Huawei. With the Sound Joy, the Chinese manufacturer continues its momentum which consists in extending its catalog of connected objects as much as possible, which has had to drastically review its claims on the telephony market.

But in reality, this is not the first that Huawei has entered the field of connected speakers. For its previous models that are the Sound and Sound X (who had nothing nomadic), Huawei had joined forces with the famous French manufacturer Devialet. And it is therefore very logically that he reoffends with the Sound Joy.

Huawei unveils Sound Joy in partnership with French manufacturer Devialet

It’s Huawei Day: after presenting a new smartphone, the Nova 9, as well as a new connected watch, the Watch GT3, the manufacturer is launching a new Bluetooth connected speaker. The purely technical audio part of the speaker was entrusted to Devialet. The enclosure is made up of 4 sound elements: two passive radiators, a 20W speaker and a 10W tweeter. We were able very briefly to judge the audio reproduction, and our first impressions are rather favorable. The quality seems to be there, the bass is very present, without eclipsing the other frequencies. But it will obviously take a long test to issue a final opinion.

The Sound Joy benefits from a substantial 8000 mAh battery. Huawei has mastered the subject of fast charging for several years with its phones (but not to the point of equaling Xiaomi and its recent Mi 11T Pro, for example), the speaker is compatible with SuperCharge 40W technology. Huawei announces 26 hours of battery life.

Like the Huawei Sound and Sound X, the new device does not include an assistant. On the other hand, it is possible, thanks to a small button located to the right of the speaker, to launch the assistant of the smartphone to which the device is paired. Note also that it is also possible to pair two speakers in order to broadcast stereo sound. For this, Huawei has found an original manipulation to say the least: just “shake” the two devices close to each other, and voila.

Fabric covered and available in 2 colors (green or black) the enclosure benefits from a IP67 certification. Understand that you can immerse it in water at a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes. The device is marketed at a price of 149 euros. It can be pre-ordered today, with deliveries scheduled for November 10.
