WhatsApp: two smartphones connected to the same account

Apparently WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow the chat app to connect to two mobile devices.

Who advances the information is WaBetaInfo, the platform that follows all application developments.

WhatsApp connection to multiple devices for beta users only

With the new feature, WhatsApp users will soon be able to connect two mobile devices to the same account. Remember that at this moment it is already possible to link the WhatsApp account to four devices and a phone.

But, since this option is being tested, only beta users can take advantage of it. It is quite possible that if this new feature progresses, it will also go through a testing phase.

How does the new WhatsApp feature work?

The WaBetaInfo website also explains how the new WhatsApp feature will work. When a user links a second mobile device to their account for the first time, the application will sync their conversation history. This will be a fully encrypted process.

In this way, when the user opens WhatsApp on the second mobile device, the application will download all the messages from the server. Best of all, this action will not require the first mobile device to be connected to the Internet.

According to the same source, there is still no scheduled date for the functionality to be available to all users. On the other hand, it is also unclear if only tablets will be covered with this option or if smartphones will also be included.
