Top 5 Best Games to Play on Steam Deck

Valve’s Steam Deck came out as a perfect gift for gamers who love to play games on the run without having to worry about carrying heavy stuff around. And since most of the PC games are compatible with Steam Deck right out of the box, it’s super convenient for players to take their games wherever they go.

It’s incredible to see how much power this little device holds inside of it to let us play incredible AAA games with no extra charges. And now with Steam Deck being more accessible than ever, I think it’s time for us to take a look at some of the best Steam games that you can play on it.

Keep in mind, that this list is not about picking the best PC games according to their reviews but games that you can actually enjoy on this handheld device.

Stray

Stray, without any doubt, is one of the best games that you can play on any device, period! This cat adventure game is super easy to play with a gamepad due to its simple enough controls and gameplay mechanics. However, you are still going to experience the same amount of challenge and thrill in solving puzzles, exploring the vast cyberpunk world, and meowing your way out of trouble.

Although it’s a game that I highly recommend you play on a big screen to absorb all the furry cuteness, it’s still super worth playing on Steam Deck as well, especially if you love playing on handheld devices. It’s an experience that you wouldn’t want to miss out on.

Death’s Door

This indie game is one of my favorite games of all time. It’s a unique mix of thrilling adventure and humor where you assume control of a soul reaper crow who embarks on a wild into the realm unknown to death, a place where residents often outlive their expiry by cheating death.

You have to explore this unknown realm and capture the stolen soul by fighting through hordes of different enemies and getting through challenging obstacles. This Isometric action-adventure game is a must-play on Steam Deck.

Forza Horizon 5

One of the very first video games that I actually enjoyed playing on handheld devices was a racing game. It was a great experience and since I have played a ton of racing games but Steam Deck hits differently because it’s much more optimized for a smooth gameplay experience. And if you are looking for a run racing game to play on this device, you can’t go wrong with Forza Horizon 5.

This game is extremely fun to play on Steam Deck, especially with the haptic feedback on the shoulder buttons that let you have an immersive racing experience and the true thrill of vrooming through gorgeous landscapes. I am sure the Forza lovers would have a blast of a time playing this game.

Neon White

It’s time for some blood-pumping fast-paced first-person action and Neon White seems to have it all. This game has taken the whole gaming community by shock with its super addicting and quite innovative gameplay that combines SuperHot-like gameplay with challenging card game mechanics.

Playing as Mr. White, the game lets you compete against other demons in this fast-paced race to claim a permanent place in heaven. Acquire different cards, unlock unique superpowers and find your way through this gorgeous-looking world while fighting off some insanely powerful demons!

Outer Wilds

Looking for a more relaxing experience? Well, Outer Wilds might just be what you are looking for. This space adventure game lets you explore a breathtaking solar system as you fly off to uncover the strange mysteries of this ever-changing universe. Stuck in the loop of time, every playthrough feels different with nothing left but the memories of your last attempt after the loop resets.

It’s a super fun adventure game with challenging puzzles to solve, a vast and gorgeous universe to explore, and a ton of awesome things to do. And while you might feel like this game is made for PC, which it is in many ways, the game itself says Outer Wilds is best experienced with a gamepad, so I will just leave it at that.
