Sony is the first major company to announce that it will not attend MWC 2022

We knew that sooner or later this would happen. With a record of daily infections in Spain, it was unthinkable for tech companies to keep their commitment to the Mobile World Congress as if nothing was happening.

The first company to announce that it will not be attending is Sony., one of the most prominent brands at the event which, in “normal” years, had one of the biggest and most interesting stands at the fair.

Sony has already canceled its presence in the two previous editions due to the pandemic and, like this year, it was one of the first to announce it.

The GSMA organization maintains that the event will be held between February 28 and March 3, and will only be canceled if the Spanish authorities so require.

For now, Sony has not specified whether it will participate virtually. Company sources explained that they will not have a physical stand and that they have not yet decided how they will communicate the news of this 2022.

After Sony’s absence, the stakes are open. What will be the next company to cancel your assistance?
