On the third day of test match which was played between Bangladesh and West Indies (West Indies vs Bangladesh), Bengali batsmen somehow avoided defeat of their team. However, defeat for Bangladesh on matchday four seems almost certain. On day four, the West Indies have to make 35 more runs to win while they have 7 wickets left.

Windies came close to winning the Test on the third day of the match, but a 122-run partnership between Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan (63) and goalkeeper Nurul Hasan (64) prevented defeat. Due to the half-centuries of these two batsmen, the Bangladeshi team also managed to avoid innings defeat. Bangladesh’s second entry ended with 245 runs, and thus West Indies had a target of 84 runs for victory. By the end of the third day’s play, the West Indies team had scored 49 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.

The Bangladeshi team could only score 103 runs in the first innings on the first day of the match. 6 team players couldn’t even open the account. It was only thanks to captain Shakib Al Hasan’s fifty that the Bangladeshi team was able to cross the 100 mark. Following this, West Indies scored 265 runs thanks to the innings of captain Craig Brathwaite (94) and Jermaine Blackwood (63). In this way, the West Indies gained a 162-run lead based on the first innings. After this, Bangladesh’s second innings was once close to staying within this lead, but Shakib and Nurul led the Bengali team to 245 runs.

Chasing Bangladesh’s 84-run target, the West Indies got off to a very poor start. The Windies team had lost all three of their wickets by just 9 runs. However, after this, Windies batsmen had scored 49 runs through the end of the third day’s game without losing any more wickets.
