Adames, Renfroe homer in Brewers' win over Reds

Willy Adames and Hunter Renfroe homered for the second straight day, rookie Jason Alexander got his first career win and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cincinnati Reds 7-3 on Saturday.

Jace Peterson drove in two runs on a double in the sixth. The ball bounced over first baseman Mike Moustakas, whose leap was unsuccessful.

Milwaukee won back-to-back games, something it hadn’t done for the month.

The irregular Reds have lost three games in a row after winning three in a row. And those three wins in a row came after a string of four stumbles.

Alexander (1-0) gave up one unearned run over five innings in his fourth start before giving up four hits and two runs in the sixth.

In total, he allowed eight hits and three runs -two earned-, with a walk and two strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.

Adames gave Milwaukee a 3-0 lead with a two-run homer off Graham Ashcraft (3-1). The Dominican reached 13 homers in the campaign.

For the Brewers, Dominican Adames 5-1 with a run scored and two RBIs. Mexican Luis Urías 3-1 with an RBI. The Venezuelan Omar Narváez 4-0 with a run scored.

For the Reds, he did not hit Latin Americans.
