Samsung has achieved record production volumes for its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. According to market research firm DSCC, the manufacturer will continue on this path through the end of 2021, and is expected to reach one million devices produced per month.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 are off to a good start in 2021 and strengthen Samsung’s position in the foldable smartphone market. Just take a look at the pre-order figures in South Korea, where the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 have 450,000 reserved devices. The manufacturer is also aware of this announced success, and is targeting record sales with more than 6.5 million foldable smartphones sold in 2021.
And precisely, as the market research firm DSCC specifies, Samsung reached record production volumes during the summer period, blithely exceeding 1.5 million units manufactured for the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. According to the organization, the South Korean firm does not intend to slow down during the end of 2021. According to their projections, they expect that the company produces nearly a million foldable smartphones per month during the last four months of the year.

Samsung increases production volume by 251%
By extension, this means that Samsung to increase company production volume by approximately 251% year-on-year. We are very far from the production figures recorded in 2020, when Samsung had manufactured only 500,000 foldable smartphones. “With the new Galaxy Z series, we’re making foldable innovations available to more consumers by breaking down barriers through our prices. I am convinced that with our new Galaxy Z series we can generate record demand for the foldable, inviting even more users to take advantage of this new way of using their smartphones ”, recently assured a spokesperson for Samsung.
It must be said that Samsung has put all the chances on its side to ensure the success of these two devices, starting with softer prices (€ 1,799 for the Z Fold 3 and € 1,059 for the Z Flip 3) and new features and hardware innovations (S-Pen support, a revised and improved construction, a ONE UI interface optimized for the dual screen, etc.). Only Samsung’s measures regarding bootloader unlocking could well create some tension with users.
