Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra can release the brand’s new 200-megapixel sensor

Soon, Samsung will be able to make its new 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP3 sensor available for Android smartphones.

And now new information says that the next top of the range Galaxy S23 Ultra could be the brand’s first terminal to include the huge sensor.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with 200 megapixel sensor?

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 108-megapixel resolution sensor

According to the latest rumors, the ISOCELL HP3 sensor with 200 megapixel resolution is in its final stages of production. The huge sensor is manufactured by Samsung Electromechanics, which produces 70% of the work, and Samsung Electronics, which is responsible for the remaining 30%.

The brand announced the component in 2021 and it is expected to hit the market at the end of 2022, quite possibly from a third brand. But in the meantime, new information suggests that the upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra flagship could be the first smartphone from the South Korean brand to show off the new 200-megapixel sensor.

If this information is confirmed, it would be a very important update compared to the previous model, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which has a 108-megapixel sensor. Even better if this update also includes performance, memory, and integrated lens improvements.

On the other hand, Apple is also expected to update the optics of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max and include new 48-megapixel sensors, as well as more image capture technology. If both brands bet on photographic arguments, a close fight is expected in this area between both terminals.

Samsung ISOCELL HP3 may appear on the market at the end of 2022

The ISOCELL HP3 will succeed Samsung’s current ISOCELL HP1, but unfortunately the technical specifications of the new sensor are not yet known. However, it is expected to be the same 1/1.22-inch size as its predecessor.

On the other hand, although rumors suggest that it is integrated into the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung’s new sensor could reach the market before the aforementioned smartphone. All because the next top Galaxy series isn’t expected to launch globally until February 2023.

By tradition, Samsung is not usually the one who makes these types of components available, first on the market. In this sense, it is much more likely that the new ISOCELL HP3 will appear on the market through Xiaomi, which, as we know, likes to bet on solid optical specifications.

Some experts point out that at the end of this year the new Samsung sensor will reach the hands of end users. Taking these two data into account, the ISOCELL HP3 could possibly appear in a top-of-the-range Xiaomi that will be presented later this year. Maybe the Xiaomi 13 Pro, who knows…
