Samsung has finally unraveled the mystery and confirmed the unveiling date for the Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup. The first Unpacked event of 2022 will take place on February 9, when we will meet the new trio of Android tops.
To prepare for the first big event of the year in South Korea, it is important to collect everything that is already known about the new Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Data extracted from all the rumors that have emerged to date.
Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+: the continuation of a formula
The two base models of the next high-end line of the South Korean will be the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 +. Both will have a similar design to their predecessors, with rounded edges and an all-glass body.
The novelties will reside inside, with obvious improvements in its technical specifications. First of all, with the use of the new Exynos 2200 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, depending on the market. It will have 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal memory.
The screen of the Samsung Galaxy S22 will be 6.1 inches Dynamic AMOLED 2X, with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels (Full-HD +). Its refresh rate will be variable up to 120 Hz, a maximum brightness of 1500 nits and Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
Its cameras will finally undergo a renovation, although it retains the triple configuration. The main sensor will be 50 MP, accompanied by a 12 MP wide angle and a 10 MP telephoto lens with up to 3x optical zoom. The front camera will be 10 MP.
To power this hardware, a 3700 mAh battery will be present. It will support wireless charging and we don’t yet know what the charging speeds will be in both modes.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S22 +, we will have small variations derived from its larger body. Indeed, we will have a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen, now with a maximum brightness of 1750 nits.
Also the battery will necessarily be bigger, now with a 4500 mAh cell. The rest of the characteristics will be the same as the previous model.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: the successor to the Galaxy Note line
Looking now at the Galaxy S22 Ultra, it promises to be the most revolutionary Galaxy ever. This is how Samsung described this model that aims to honor the past of the Note line.
We will therefore have a more angular and robust design inspired by the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. There will also be support for an S Pen, this time with its own place on the smartphone for storage of this productivity accessory.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will use the same processors as its two siblings. The differences begin to be noticed in its memory, with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage.
The screen of this Android smartphone will be a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X with a resolution of 3080 x 1440 pixels (Quad-HD+). Its refresh rate will be variable up to 120 Hz, a maximum brightness of 1750 nits and Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
In the cameras we will have the same hardware configuration as its predecessor. That is, a 108 MP main lens, a 12 MP wide angle, a 10 MP telephoto lens and a 10 MP periscope. At the front is a 40 MP sensor.
Although it uses the same hardware, a significant jump in the quality of the captured images is expected. This will be possible thanks to its new image processing software.
The battery of this Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will be 5000 mAh, also with support for wireless charging. In this model it is believed that the Korean can make the leap to 45 W fast charging.
