Last year, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max didn’t just differ in screen size.
also had differences in rear camerasLike the iPhone 12 Pro Max it had a wide-angle camera with a larger sensor and a more advanced sensor-shift optical stabilization system. The telephoto camera also had a larger zoom factor, 2.5x instead of 2x.
For some users this presented a dilemma as they had to choose between a compact smartphone like the iPhone 12 Pro or a smartphone with the best camera like the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
This year, however, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have the same featuresplus differences in screen size and battery life.
Both have the same camera hardware consisting of three cameras:
- 12MP wide-angle camera with 7P lens, f/1.5 aperture and optical sensor displacement stabilization
- 12MP 3x telephoto camera with f/2.8 aperture and optical image stabilization.
- 12MP (120º) ultra wide-angle camera with 6P lens and f/1.8 aperture.
This means that users no longer necessarily need to go for the bigger, more expensive iPhone to access the best camera hardware.
The differences between the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max now come down to screen size (6.1 inches and 6.7 inches) and battery life, and that’s good news.
