Mobility City, the world’s first mobility technology museum based in Zaragoza, turns one year old
Imagine a futuristic pavilion that gives the impression that a spaceship has landed and is building a bridge between the two banks of the Ebro. Now imagine that in this pavilion you have access to an interactive museum where you can experience what transportation would look like in a flying taxi in a futuristic city, admire Concept cars Embark on a legendary journey and even see the inside of a Hyperloop car, the new high-speed transportation system. Mobility City is all this and more.
Mobility City is an initiative of the Ibercaja Foundation in collaboration with the Government of Aragon, based in Zaragoza. It is a project focused on the future of mobility and aims to become the international benchmark for promoting sustainable, intelligent, connected and autonomous mobility. For this purpose, Mobility City brings together companies, startups, research centers, universities and public administrations.
Mobility City is located in the Zaha Hadid-designed Bridge Pavilion, one of the emblematic buildings of the International Exhibition held in Zaragoza in the summer of 2008. The famous architect Zaha Hadid called the Zaragoza Bridge Pavilion project one of the most important building blocks of his career, with a length of 270 meters and a structure that imitates a gladiolus stretched over the Ebro River. It is a free passage space that serves as a bridge for the residents and visitors of Zaragoza, but also shows the future of the mobility it contains.

Last February, Mobility City celebrated its first year as the first mobility technology museum of the 21st century. During this time it recorded almost 200,000 visitors and more than 100 activities. A year in which Mobility City has proven that it is more than just a museum and has developed into an accelerator of innovative ideas and pioneering solutions for the future of mobility, with a clear vision towards sustainability.
Mobility City’s first-year exhibitions include “The Super Class That Changed the Species,” an exhibition of the most famous vehicles in automotive history, and “Mars: The Conquest of a Dream,” a tour of the most unknown side of the Red Planet. The year 2024 offers an even more attractive program of informative and interactive activities and actions such as the International Motorcycle Road Safety Congress, the V Observatory for Sustainable Mobility, the Innovation Days, the Spanish Mobility Research Congress with CSIC or the Mobility Week and many more other initiatives.
There is always a reason to stop in Zaragoza and, without a doubt, Mobility City is one of the most attractive places in the city for any visitor interested in avant-garde architecture, automobiles, sustainability and visions of the future.
