Microsoft Portugal opens its office to entrepreneurs and startups

TO Microsoft Portugal will bring together, this Thursday, February 23, more than 60 founders of startups and entrepreneurs at its offices in Parque das Nações, in Lisbon. The initiative aims to promote the exchange of experiences between participants and technology employees in Portugal.

The event is part of the “Coworking Thursdays”. It is an initiative of the 351 Associação Portuguesa de Startups, Made of Lisbon, alphaCoimba, Acredita Portugal, CMX Connect Portugal, Grow Remote, Croissant, CreativeMornings Lisboa, Startup Grind Lisboa, Lisbon Digital Nomads and Nomadx.

It is, therefore, an initiative aimed at remote workers and digital nomads looking for a coworking space. For all those interested, Microsoft Portugal will open the doors of its facilities in Opening who want to work from their office.

To participate in this initiative, the communities of Opening and entrepreneurs must register with the own place (Registrations open at 1:00 p.m. on February 20). The activity, with limited places, is free and will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Microsoft reinforces its commitment to the flexible work model

For Microsoft, the future of work is hybrid. Even before the pandemic, technology employees could choose the work regime that suited them best, whether it was from home, remote work or from offices.

An approach that, according to data from the labor Trend Index 2022, It is here to stay, with 52% of respondents saying they are likely to switch to hybrid or remote work starting this year.

In fact, and with remote and hybrid work on the rise, one in seven jobs in the US last year offered the option of working remotely. By the way, in March 2020, only one in 67 offered this option.

Tecnológica continues to promote the entrepreneurship ecosystem

Since 2018, Microsoft has helped drive the business ecosystem globally. It does so through Microsoft for Startups. The initiative, which allows the acceleration of thousands of technology startups, taking advantage of a global network of partners, is currently present in 140 countries, including Portugal.

Between 2020 and 2022 alone, within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding established with the Portuguese Government, Microsoft implemented two business acceleration programs (“Fintech 365” and “Portugal SES”). Programs that generated 11 business opportunities between clients and national and international startups.

The “Portugal de Startup em Startup” initiative, in partnership with Startup Portugal and Beta-i, has already represented an investment of more than 750 thousand dollars in Azure Credits.

We remind you that this initiative was launched in March 2022. Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub is a program that aims to support startups through technical and commercial resources that help accelerate their sustainable expansion.

Currently, more than 150 Portuguese startups are already part of this program. Also in the last year, and with the aim of promoting the exchange of knowledge between the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

For this reason, Microsoft was present at reference events such as the Web Summit. Event in which he presented 20 startups that are part of his Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub program, and in Building The Future, through the Startup World initiative.
