iPhone 13 Versus iPhone 14: what will change

In September we will know the iPhone 14, but what will the new base version of Apple’s smartphone bring back compared to the previous generation?

We’ve collected all the rumors that have spread so far to see how the tech giant will update a base version that may arrive with few changes.

Design and display

All the information points to the upcoming iPhone 14 keeping the same design and dimensions as the iPhone 13. But it looks like the new iPhone is being designed in glass front and back with an aluminum frame in between. On the other hand, Apple is also expected to present different color variants than the current ones.

As for the screen, the iPhone 14 will have a 6.1-inch OLED panel that will have the usual notch to house the front sensors. Like the iPhone 13!

In other words, Apple will keep the same 60Hz refresh rate, reserving 120Hz ProMotion support for the Pro models. But the iPhone 14 may arrive with a higher maximum brightness than the current generation, to make it easier to view the screen. screen in outer space.

Processor and RAM

Most likely, Apple will equip the iPhone 14 with the same A15 Bionic chip present in the iPhone 13. Some rumors suggest that the company will give this proprietary chip a new trade name so as not to disappoint potential users looking for innovation.

But there is an improvement that will make a difference. The Cupertino company could increase the RAM from 4 GB to 6 GB of the LPDDR5 type in the next version of the base model. This “little big” change can make the smartphone faster and thus meet the expectations of users.

However, in the end, the performance of the iPhone 14 will be quite similar to that of the current 13th generation of Apple’s smartphone.

It should also be noted that the non-Pro models should quite possibly receive less update time than the advanced models, since they will not integrate the new A16 Bionic chip.

optical part

Like its predecessor, the iPhone 14 will also feature a dual rear camera setup with the same 12-megapixel primary and ultra-wide sensors.

But the rumors circulating so far indicate that the ultra-wide camera will be subject to improvements, possibly with the integration of autofocus and macro functions.

On the other hand, it seems that the front camera will also receive an update, with the introduction of autofocus and image stabilization, and there are even those who claim that it will have an almost identical quality to the rear camera.

battery and charging stand

On this specific point there is little (or no) information, so we do not know if Apple intends to increase the size of the battery to include it in the iPhone 14.

It is recalled that the company has made a major update to the iPhone 13, including a 3,227 mAh battery, since the iPhone 12 came equipped with a 2,815 mAh battery. But so far, no rumors point to changes in this area.

Along the same lines, the iPhone 14 will also not have a faster charging speed, maintaining the same 20 watts of the previous generation that charges the battery to 100% in about two hours.

In short, the iPhone 14 will bring with it very few changes compared to its predecessor. And if Apple, in September after the launch of the new generation of smartphones, reduces the price of the iPhone 13, it is possible that many users will choose to buy this model instead of acquiring the new 14 model. After all, both offer substantially the same and the big difference will undoubtedly be in the price.
