iOS 18 brings customization options to the home screen

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has revealed what to expect iPhone Home Screen Updates as part of iOS 18. Although he doesn’t reveal many details, Gurman mentions that iOS 18 will make the home screen “more customizable.”

iOS 18 will reportedly be the biggest update yet. Artificial intelligence will be a key focus, with AI-powered features integrated throughout the operating system. Apple could also integrate virtual assistant functions via Google’s Gemini.

Apple is determined to “catch up” with other tech giants and present a cohesive AI strategy. Gurman points this out iOS 18 will include a variety of AI features to “help manage your daily life.”

Previous reports have indicated that Apple is working on improvements to Siri, AI-generated playlists for Apple Music, AI document generation in the iWork suite, and smarter reply suggestions in Messages, among other things.

iOS 18 will be announced at WWDC in June alongside other Apple operating systems: iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, visionOS 2 and the new version of macOS. Apple will release the first developer betas in June before unveiling them publicly in the fall, likely alongside the launch of the new iPhone 16 range in September.
