Google’s next generation of Android smartphones will be led by the Pixel 8 Pro. This will be the best North American team for this year, showcasing the best the company has to offer.
Although there are still several months to go before its presentation, the Google Pixel 8 Pro is beginning to be detailed by the press. This time, the focus falls on the design of this smartphone thanks to the release of the first renders.
Google Pixel 8 Pro renders reveal what to expect from the device
The renderings in question were shared by the renowned @OnLeaks in association with the SmartPrix publication. Images based on CAD schematics of the Google Pixel 8 Pro and raise a question on the minds of fans.
Attention should go to the Pixel 8 Pro camera module. Specifically, the mysterious sensor that appears on the right side, below what will be the LED flash of this camera.
This is an item that wasn’t part of previous Pixel smartphones and it raises several questions. The purpose of this fourth sensor is still a mystery, it could be a macro or depth lens as seen on many other devices.
Still, the most plausible thesis is the incorporation of a LiDAR sensor that will help the Google Pixel 8 Pro to better map three-dimensional scenarios. Something that analyst Max Weinbach pointed out earlier.
Even in the Pixel 8 Pro camera module we have a new arrangement of the rest of the sensors. On this occasion, they will be housed entirely in the same area, offering a greater sense of uniformity in the design.
Another point of interest is its screen that, in 2023, will abandon the curved sides. Judging by what we see in these images, Google will opt for a flat screen, as it offers in its entry-level models.
Regarding dimensions, this source indicates that the Google Pixel 8 Pro will have a 6.52-inch screen. This smartphone will be slightly smaller than its predecessor with the following dimensions: 62.6 × 76.5 × 8.7 mm.
