Does iPhone 14 Pro crash detection work? watch on video

The iPhone 14 Pro hit the market last week. The new Apple smartphone arrived with few new features, one of the most notable is the crash detection (Crash Detection). This feature is intended to help users if they are in a traffic accident situation.

This is because the smartphone is able to detect the situation and immediately ask the user if they want to contact the emergency services. In the first reviews, it would be expected that the functionality would be mentioned, but the first brave person to try it would have to appear.

Crash Detection has already been tested by youtuber and (no surprises) it works as expected

Well, the first brave one was YouTuber TechRax. He put the iPhone 14 Pro inside a vehicle and a GoPro in the back to film the moment. With an electric skateboard to help, he managed to move the vehicle remotely, so that he crashed into the corpse of another.

Everything took place in the open field, in an apparently safe environment. On the second try, the vehicle crashed into a pile of cars and it was no surprise that the feature kicked in after a few seconds.

The user receives a message that says “It looks like you were involved in an accident.” If the user does not confirm, the smartphone will start a 10-second countdown, after which it will automatically call the emergency services. If the user doesn’t need help, they can simply cancel the action.

After a second try, the functionality kicked in again without any issues. It turns out to be a test done “for science”, but it shows that this will be a help in a tight situation for those who buy the iPhone 14 Pro. However, it is a feature that nobody will want to have to test in real conditions.
