Captured Kashmiri libertarian leader Altaf Ahmad Shah died in Indian custody

Senior Hurriyat leader Altaf Hussain Shah, who was imprisoned in Indian jail for 5 years for the freedom of Occupied Kashmir, passed away.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Altaf Ahmad Shah, son-in-law of Baba Hurriyat late Syed Ali Geelani, was arrested on July 25, 2017 along with 6 others in an alleged terror funding case, and since then he has been in the notorious New Delhi. Zamana was imprisoned in Tihar Jail.

Altaf Ahmad Shah was suffering from diabetes and kidney cancer but during his imprisonment he was not provided proper treatment due to which his cancer spread to other parts of the body.

The family members of the Hurriyat leader knocked on every door for proper treatment, but there was no hearing from them.

The Hurriyat leader was shifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital in New Delhi after his condition worsened over the past few days, where he died between Monday and Tuesday night.

The All Party Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the martyrdom of Altaf Ahmad Shah in prison.
