Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited film “Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh” hit theaters on April 18, 2025.

Underwhelming Box Office Performance
The film, directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, is based on the events following the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
On its first day, the film collected ₹7.50 crore, which was lower than Sunny Deol’s “Jatt” (₹9.50 crore) and Akshay’s previous release “Sky Force.”
The film’s earnings increased by 25% on the second day (Saturday), with a collection of ₹9.75 crore.
On Sunday, it reached ₹12.25 crore, making the total collection for the first three days ₹29.75 crore.
The film earned ₹4.4 crore on Monday.
On Tuesday, the film’s earnings dropped further.
By the fifth day, the film’s total box office collection had reached a certain figure, though it failed to meet expectations.
Impressive Cast and Crew
The film boasts an impressive cast, with Akshay Kumar playing the role of lawyer C. Shankaran Nair, who fought against the British government in court to uncover the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
R. Madhavan portrayed British lawyer Neville MacKinley, who opposed Akshay in court.
Ananya Panday played the role of Dilreet Gill, a lawyer who assisted Nair.
Other notable cast members include Regina Cassandra, Alex O’Neill, and Amit Sial.
Akshay Kumar’s Upcoming Projects
Akshay Kumar has several upcoming films lined up.
