Canadá se afianza en el liderato de la Concacaf en camino a Mundial Catar-2022

Canada beat the powerful United States team 2-0 and established itself in the leadership of the octagonal Concacaf qualifier for the Qatar-2022 World Cup, played on the tenth date this Sunday.

Forward Cyle Larin opened the scoring in the 7th minute and Samuel Adekugbe closed it at 90+5 to the delight of the fans at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton (Canada).

With four games remaining, Canada has 22 points at the top of the octagonal, where it remains undefeated despite the absence of its star, Alphonso Davies, due to myocarditis.

The United States, which completed another gray performance, is in second place with 18 units.

Meanwhile, Costa Rica stuck to its tactical plan from start to finish, drawing 0-0 against Mexico at the Azteca stadium.

With this tie, El Tri reached 18 points and kept third place; Costa Rica stayed in the fight with 13 units in fifth position.

Panama defeated Jamaica 3-2, a result that allows them to continue in the fight for a ticket in fourth place.

Meanwhile, El Salvador defeated Honduras 2-0 in a clash of colistas and broke the curse that had never won in the neighbor’s yard.

"These are dark moments where there is no patience. In life there come moments when they are not opportune and everyone’s patience ran out", expressed an angry ‘Bolillo’ Gómez, although he did not clarify if he intended to resign.

The octagonal grants three tickets to the World Cup and the caurtoa the possibility of a playoff against a team from Oceania.
