Bu Cuarón releases EP and says his music shouldn’t be pigeonholed

The 20-year-old Bu Cuarón has just released his new EP “Drop By When You Drop Dead” with an interesting musical proposal that mixes genres and gives a refreshing creative seal.

In this new phase, the artist presented them for the first time Complete work Musical and has started to carve out its own space in the industry.

playground had the opportunity to interview her to talk about her first approaches to music (she started playing the piano at age 4) and what it was like growing up in an environment where art was plentiful.

“It’s always been part of my life, so I never questioned it (…) I know not everyone has something they were passionate about as a child, but I always had that and it’s with me in a way grown,” he said.

One characteristic of the artist is that she likes to have “101%” control over everything she does creatively: producing, writing and conceptualizing.

Bu Cuarón believes this is due to his Moon in Virgo, and therefore gravitates towards musical influences and artists who share the same quality. She credits Tyler The Creator as her inspiration for the creation of this EP.

“I feel like I’m always inspired by artists who do what you hear; Who produces, who writes… who does it all? (…) Someone said to me, ‘Every artist you love writes and produces everything,’ and I said, ‘That’s true!'” he said.

That’s why she believes that when she has control over the entire creative process, she can feel comfortable with the result.

“I feel like the mind and the way you process what you’re doing seems different when you’re in control of everything,” he said.

For any new followers of the artist, Bu wants them to see her music not as a project full of labels, but as one that defines itself and cannot be pigeonholed.

“…Because it is a whole, each song has its own genre. It is a trilingual project in three languages: English, Italian and Spanish. “Every song has its own sound.”

The artist says that this new work has a more electronic base, but underneath it all there is a song with more reggaeton in Spanish, more pop in English and at the end a ballad in Italian, which is why she believes that her music is not in This category should be classified by a single gender.
