Apple prepares to launch an external screen with mini-LED technology

Renowned display and panel market analyst Ross Young has revised his predictions for Apple’s next external display. According to the latest report from him, this product will only be released in the first quarter of 2023.

We are talking about a new 27-inch screen, yes, now with min-LED technology. This is a technology with many similarities to OLED panels, but with the benefit of being cheaper to produce.

Apple’s next outdoor screen will feature mini-LED technology and ProMotion

In addition to having a mini-LED panel, Ross Young also reports that Apple’s next external display will feature ProMotion. This means it will have a 120Hz refresh rate for a smoother viewing experience.

Although these technologies are often associated with Apple Pro products, the display in question should not be the successor to the Pro Display XDR. This one has a larger screen and 6K resolution, so the new model should succeed the Studio Display.

This isn’t the first time Ross Young has addressed the launch of a new Apple-tagged outdoor display. The initial forecasts for him pointed to June, later being delayed to October.

The report now released by Ross Young reports a postponement of the launch of this screen for early next year. Apparently, the reason for this is the problems related to its production.

The restrictions that Apple feels in the production of screens are, in fact, affecting the entire line of screens and Macs that the company develops. If this is true, we may see some limitations on other products in these categories.

It is likely that Apple will not present only its next external screen. By this I mean that this product should be accompanied by a Mac, who knows that it will not be the long-awaited Mac Pro with a processor from the M line.
