Unsurprisingly, Apple unveiled its HomePod mini column at this Unleashed event.
Apple’s smart speaker gained color and more features, all thanks to the Apple S5 processor built into the device.

The novelty that stands out the most in the renewed HomePod mini column are, without a doubt, the colors that it won. The gray and black models are now joined by three new bold and expressive shades, as described by Apple. Namely: yellow, orange and blue, also visible on the touch surface of the small column.
But it will be the few functions it offers that will win over users. The HomePod mini is equipped with the Apple S5 processor that allows the speaker software to analyze the characteristics of each song. Thus, in real time, the small speaker optimizes the volume, adjusts the dynamic range and controls the movement of the drivers. Everything automatically.
However, passive noise-canceling radiators allow deep bass and clear high frequencies to be reproduced. In turn, an acoustic waveguide, developed by Apple itself, directs the flow of sound downward and outward to provide a 360-degree surround sound experience.
Full integration with the Siri voice assistant that recognizes up to six different elements of the house
The new HomePod mini is also fully integrated with the Siri Assistant display to provide a personalized audio experience for each user. Siri, when activated on the HomePod mini, is capable of recognizing up to six different members of the household and suggesting songs and podcasts based on your preferences.
The Siri integration also allows users to use the new column to read incoming messages, set reminders, notes and appointments, or receive and make phone calls.
On the other hand, if the iPhone user brings the device closer to the new speaker, they can transfer audio. Best of all, to signal the transfer, the speaker emits visual and sound effects that give you the feeling of being physically connected.
When the two devices are brought closer together, if the HomePod is not playing music, personalized suggestions appear on the iPhone screen, based on user preferences, as well as speaker controls are available, without the need to unlock the Apple smartphone.
HomePod mini lets you control smart equipment indoors
The new HomePod mini also lets you control smart appliances through the Siri voice assistant. In this sense, you can ask Siri to go to the column and ask him to turn off the lights, change the temperature or set an operating time for the smart device, among other options.
In case there are multiple HomePod mini speakers in the house, users can communicate with each other, without moving. Simply request that a voice message be played on the desired HomePod mini.
Additionally, you can also access the new Apple Music Voice Plan with Apple’s smart speaker. The HomePod mini will be available in the United States for $ 99, or about $ 85.
In November it will begin to reach other European countries such as Austria, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. There is no information on when it will arrive in Portugal.
