Amazing Spider-Man’s Lizard actor opens up about his No Way Home return

If the fans saw the faces of Doc Ock, from Green boffoon and D’Electro in promotional material, Sandman and the lizard were only seen in their CGI forms. Having said that, it is still not certain that Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man 3) and Rhys ifans (The Amazing Spider-Man) are reprising their respective roles from Flint Marko and Curtis Conners.

In a recent interview with Murphy’s Multiverse, it was asked Rhys ifans if he would be the actor playing the Lizard in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Without saying more, all smiles, he referred to his induction into the MCU.

“Well, you know, like most Christmas presents, the good thing is you don’t know what’s in them until it’s time to open them.”

The character of Rhys ifans first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012, fighting the version of Peter Parker/Spiderman ofAndrew Garfield. The ultimate goal of Conners was to turn the human population into hybrid lizards. Spiderman foils his plan by spraying New York with an antidote, a treatment that also affects the Lizard, turning him back into a human. The lizard is arrested, he does not die in The Amazing Spider-Man. The latter could be extracted from the universe of Marc Webb before being affected by the antidote. There is no guarantee that fans will see the actor’s face until the Lizard eventually transforms back into human in No Way Home.
