A 21-year-old man shot in the head on Sunday night has died.
The victim, with a prior record for contempt, was found on España Street between Eduardo Fabini and Miguel de Cervantes.
Police say he was taken to the Hospitalito de Ciudad de la Costa in serious condition and later transferred to the Hospital de Clínicas.
Serious Injuries
Doctors diagnosed a gunshot wound to the head with brain tissue loss and another gunshot wound to the groin area.
The victim’s family confirmed his death in recent hours, backed by official documents seen by News Agency.
Ongoing Investigation
The Canelones Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
While police say the victim was found in the street, his family claims he was inside a property.
The case is being overseen by Ciudad de la Costa prosecutor Fernando Valerio.
