Zlatan underwent surgery again and there are doubts about his future in football

Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic underwent surgery on his left knee on Wednesday and Milan, the new Italian champion, estimated that his recovery will take between seven and eight months. For this reason, the future of the star as a professional is in serious doubt, taking into account that the former Barcelona player will turn 41 in October.

The Italian club reported through its social networks that the striker underwent arthroscopy to definitively resolve joint instability in his left knee. The operation carried out in the French city of Lyon also included the “reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament, with lateral reinforcement and meniscus repair,” the statement detailed.

Ibrahimovic played the last 20 minutes of the game on the last date against Sassuolo (3-0) prior to the consecration of Serie A, but due to said injury he could not have continuity so far this year. The Italian media now question whether Ibrahimovic will continue his professional career since during the title celebrations he had slipped that it depended on whether or not he should have surgery on his knee.

Based on his age and the time his recovery will take, the chances that Sunday’s game against Sassuolo and the Scudetto obtained with Milan will be his last images as a professional footballer.
