Pakistani hitter Asif Ali, who has hit six sixes in the last two games of the T20 World Cup, said he never cared about criticism of his national team. There was a lot of noise and crying in the Pakistani media regarding the selection of Asif in the T20 World Cup team. He has had poor performances in many international matches in the past.

Asif, who scored an undefeated 25 on seven balls against Afghanistan, led the team to a five-wicket victory with one over, said: “I am away from social media and not aware of what is happening there. No I know the criticism.

Pakistan needed 24 runs in the last two overs yesterday. Asif finished the match at nineteen by beating Karim Jannat by four sixes. Before the World Cup, however, his performance was not good. He couldn’t even hit double digits in the last four innings. In 203 matches in the domestic T20, he has scored runs at an average of 147.

“The statistics will say that he scored ten runs in the last three innings, but they will not say that he has played two or three balls in the last round,” Asif said.

“In the previous series against Zimbabwe and South Africa, I landed at number six. This is a difficult order and if you don’t play well, the numbers are shown directly, you don’t see how many problems the middle order hitters had.

He said: “I kept in and out of the team, but when the team needed me, they called me. I kept focused on my work. I played in franchise leagues around the world and also in national cricket. I was in shape and that’s why I was able to. act like this.

Asif also thanked former coach Misbah-ul-Haq for his performance. “I started my career with Misbah at Faisalabad. He played under his direction. He worked very hard with me and I will always be grateful to him.
