IKEA will distribute 110 million euros ($ 128 million) among its employees for their efforts during the coronavirus pandemic, Ingka Group, which owns most of the Swedish furniture chain stores, announced today.

Ingka Group, a company that concentrates 90% of IKEA’s sales and operates in 32 countries with more than 170,000 workers, will divide that sum between those who were working for her on August 31 and continue to be in January 2022.

The amount received per employee will be in proportion to the type of working day and the country in which they work.

Ingka Group obtained the last fiscal year (September 1-August 31) retail sales worth 37.400 million euros (43.518 million dollars), 6.3% more year-on-year.

The percentage of internet sales with respect to the total went from 18 to 30%, and the Swedish chain opened 26 new stores.

Ingka Group (Ingka Holding and its controlled entities) is one of twelve groups that own and operate IKEA sales channels under franchise agreements with Inter IKEA Systems, which is the owner of the IKEA concept.
