Windows 11: Microsoft confirms a problem with colors on HDR monitors

Microsoft developers are dealing with a bug that occurs in Windows 11: Colors may not display correctly on some HDR monitors.

According latest windows, the problem occurs in most cases when using image editing programs and editing images with white colors or a light background.

On some monitors, affected pixels appear bright yellow or other hues. Monitors where colors are displayed incorrectly are usually monitors that use the HDR standard.

Microsoft recently added the bug to the list of known issues and is currently working to fix this and other bugs in their operating system. The problem is caused by Win32 APIs that return unexpected information or error messages under certain conditions.

The bug does not affect all color profiles or programs that make profile changes. Therefore, it is recommended to return to the default settings until the next update and use only the default color profiles.

Once the company has confirmed the bug, a bug fix should arrive with an upcoming version of Windows 11. The issues appear to have already been fixed in the latest builds of the Insider program.
