OR WhatsApp will allow, very soon, to make questionnaires and polls in group chats. The novelties are in the testing phase, they are currently only available in the beta version for iOS (iPhone), and should also arrive in the Android version, later with one of the next updates.
This is a useful enhancement to the capabilities given to WhatsApp group administrators to ask participants questions. So the next time you host a dinner party with friends, you can take advantage of this feature.
WhatsApp groups receive the “Poll” function
The novelties were observed and disseminated for the first time by the WABetaInfo, always on the lookout for designs from the world’s largest instant communications platform. It is important to note that “Polls” in WhatsApp groups are currently limited to the beta version of the iOS (iPhone) application.
More specifically, it was in version 22.6.0.70 of iOS when evidence of the new function was detected. This is an easy to understand feature: being able to ask all members of the WhatsApp group chat a question.
Illustrating this piece we can see the screenshot with the new functionality of “Create surveys” in the application. The admin can then post the question publicly for members to answer.
The Next Boost for WhatsApp Chats and Groups
Although it is not visible, it is likely that after defining the question, the administrator can put some answer options, very similar to those that we already have available, for example, on Instagram. These will be the options on which the participants will be able to vote, or at least that is how the aforementioned publication understands it.
The publication also mentions that the participants of the WhatsApp groups will be able to see the results of the vote, once again, a possibility that is in line with what we already have in the Facebook groups.
It will therefore be an effort to unify the user experience between the different platforms and social networks of the Meta group. Finally, it remains to be seen when the version of the messaging app for Android and its stable versions will also arrive.
In short, it is a new option to encourage interaction between the participants of the WhatsApp groups. Its operation is simple, with good possibilities of use.
