The constant evolution that we observe in WhatsApp always benefits the user and this is, once again, very clear in the new function that is about to reach the platform. In question, the possibility of editing the messages sent to our contacts.
This is one of the novelties that is currently in the testing phase and that will soon be available to all users of the platform owned by Meta. An option that will radically change the experience of using this application.
Edit sent messages is the new feature that will be implemented in WhatsApp
As on so many other occasions, the news is brought forward by the WABetaInfo publication. This is an entity that is dedicated to studying the future of the WhatsApp service and is a constant source of revealing new features to be implemented in its applications.
This time when looking at the test build 4.23.0.72 for operating system iOS, they were faced with the possibility of editing the sent messages. A resource that will undoubtedly be very useful for all users.
Currently, if you make a mistake typing a message, you can always delete it and resend the correct text. With the implementation of this editing tool, this will no longer be necessary, and you can simply edit any errors in the sent message.
The screenshot above serves as documentary evidence of the existence and the respective testing phase of this feature. In it we can even observe how its mode of operation works.
As seen in the shared image, whenever a message is edited, the recipient will be notified of what happened. A notice will be placed immediately below any message that fits this paradigm to ensure full transparency between those involved.
The WABetaInfo post also notes that the ability to edit messages will only apply to text. If you send a multimedia file (photo or video) it will not be possible to edit its title.
This does not mean that this option will not be implemented in WhatsApp. It is only known that this will not be part of the next platform news, which does not prevent it from being implemented in the future.
Although this option was discovered in the beta of WhatsApp for iOS, Android users should not be discouraged. There is a good chance that this option will also be available for that platform very soon.
