Kerala Police said Thursday that a ‘Blue Corner’ notice has been issued against Malayalam actor and producer accused of rape, Vijay Babu. Kochi City Police Commissioner CH Nagaraju said all measures would be taken to bring Vijay Babu back as soon as possible.

According to the police, on April 22, a film associate from Kozhikode filed a complaint against Vijay Babu in Ernakulam, claiming that she was raped and beaten multiple times in an apartment in Kochi. The woman has also accused the actor of intoxicating her before sexually abusing her.

Shortly after the news broke, Babu went live on his social media claiming that he was the “true victim” in the case and that he would take appropriate legal action against the whistleblower. The police have also registered a second case against the actor for revealing the name of the complainant.
