Despite the tremendous development in the fields of science and technology in India, its citizens are still in the grip of superstitious beliefs and practices.
According to media reports, a young man in the state of Uttar Pradesh buried himself alive at the behest of a Hindu sadhu, blindly imitating him, but luckily the police arrived on the spot.
The Hindu sadhu told the distraught youth that if he wanted light (peace) in life, he should take samadhi, i.e. bury himself, before the Navratri festival.

After learning about this, the local residents immediately informed the police. The police reached the spot and took the young man out of the grave and arrested him along with three Hindu sadhus.
Police said that three Hindu sadhus of the area told the youth to take samadhi if he wanted a lot of money. The accused will be further investigated.
