Val d’Oise: a tweet relayed more than 20,000 times led to the arrest of a man for death threats

A 21-year-old was arrested in the Val d’Oise for death threats and rape, after a large mobilization of Internet users.

It all starts with a tweet from @ toomuchlucile2. On August 13, the young woman, exhausted by the harassment she suffered, made the voice messages she received public on Instagram. A man has been threatening to rape her and attack her family for several weeks.

Lucile says this man contacted her through “forty fake accounts” on Instagram. The second you reported or blocked an account, the stalker created a new one. “You can file a complaint, I know how it works, I’ll always be outside,” he assured him. “There, if I arrive, I see you, I slaughter you, I raped you, I know that I will never take 20 years” in prison.

The man has sent her other messages where he yells that he is going to “rape” her and “massacre her family.” He also got into his head to find Lucile’s address – successfully. “I will come, I assure you that I will come,” he says in a video. “As soon as I get back from Corsica, I will do my best to find him.”

Lucile’s post has been shared more than 20,000 times on Twitter. Other women joined her, saying that they had been harassed by this man. “You’re right, it’s true, I harassed all my ex-girlfriends. I raped them later, I made them suffer,” the man admitted in a voice message.

Lucile was contacted by the national police. The suspect was arrested. While he is currently in police custody, authorities have asked Internet users not to interrupt investigations.
