Train accident in Odisha: Hotline number for information for Bangladeshis

The number of people killed in the terrible train accident in Orissa, India has increased to 207 people. The Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata said on Friday that there may be Bangladeshis in the accident train. Many Bangladeshi passengers travel from Kolkata to Chennai by this train for treatment. For this reason, the sub-high commission has given a hotline (+919038353533 WhatsApp) number for Bangladeshis to inquire about the accident.

The Bangladesh Sub-High Commission in Kolkata informed about this hotline in a press release on Friday night.

At least 900 people were reportedly injured in the accident near Bahanaga station, 40 km from Baleshwar station, around 7:30 pm on Friday. Many were trapped in the mangled compartments of the train. Train movement is disrupted by the accident. At least five express trains have been cancelled. The Ministry of Railways has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 2 lakh to the injured.
