BEIJING: A woman in China took a step to escape office politics that shocked people, she started working in a cemetery.
In a post on Dwayne, the Chinese version of TikTok, a 22-year-old woman named Tan said the job she is doing is simple and easy, and there’s internet besides dogs and cats.
The woman, who now works in a mountain cemetery in Chingchong, China, also shared photos and videos of her ‘peaceful office’ on social media, which went viral.
Among the features the woman described about her new job were that ‘the environment is free of office politics, close, and free time.’
Tan’s job responsibilities include monitoring visitors to the cemetery, selling books and taking care of graves, for which he is paid 4,000 yuan (over 125,000 Pakistani rupees) a month.
A woman has to work 6 days a week from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, with a 2-hour lunch break.
It should be noted that according to government data, the average annual salary of a person in Chongqing is 33,800 yuan, which is 2,800 yuan per month, according to this calculation, Tan is getting paid more for his job at the cemetery.
