Thread: Sony is planning a ‘Back to the Future meets Aliens’ movie

The creator and head writer of the series Moon Knight, Jeremy Slater, and famed horror producer James Wan are about to launch a crazy movie project. Entitled Thread, we frankly don’t know much about the project aside from a completely crossed-out description describing the film from ” Back to the future meets Aliens“. Everything is said, we do not want to know, we want to see!

The project ” Back to the future meets Aliens“, whose meager information we have has been revealed by deadline, is developed by sony, whereas Jeremy Slater, will be aboard Thread’s ship / Dolorean. Production will be handled by James Wan and Michael Clear from Atomic Monster, with Judson Scott and Melissa Russell as executive producers. James Wan became known for its ability to produce action and horror, especially Fast & Furious 7, Aquaman, Insidious, saw, The Conjuring and recently Malignant.

And if not, what exactly could it mean Back to the future meets Aliens »? Announce Thread referencing two of the most iconic films of all time is brave or crazy, at Sony, the film had better live up to such a description, or risk experiencing the flop of the century. The reference to Back to the future more likely indicates time travel, with why not a smashing duo embarking on an adventure through different time periods. As for Aliens, this suggests that Thread will involve an alien-like invasion. Aliens being a benchmark in the action horror genre, as well as for introducing a plethora of aliens when the first installment had only one Xenomorph.

Thereby, Thread could very well involve two heroes rushing through time in order to stop an alien invasion, with the tone falling somewhere between action, horror and adventure type Back to the future. Or else, we are on the wrong track, and Sony, after the success of No Way Home, launches into a far far away fan service beyond the unknown, beyond funny borders. The future will tell.
