Five people were arrested smuggling that they brought with them from Brazil.
The arrest took place in the early hours of this Thursday morning Solis de Mataojo and those now imprisoned had entered the country via Chuy.
According to police accessed by News Agency, the smugglers used a lead vehicle that passed in front of two other vehicles for several minutes without identifying themselves at the pass to determine whether there was a checkpoint or the route was clear of traffic.
The process of locating the vehicles and goods began on Wednesday noon when three teams of the Customs Response and Intervention Group (GRIA) were deployed in different parts of the country to intervene on the suspicious vehicles. At 6 p.m. they noticed the lead vehicle in Solís de Mataojo and then the other two that had not been identified. One of the vehicles was not registered.
Inside, they found contraband of juices, deodorants, drinks, and liquid and powder soap.
