The TOP new signing that Real Madrid has in its sights for 2025

According to The Athletic, Real Madrid are considering the possibility of strengthening their squad by signing Achraf Hakimi in the summer of 2025 or 2026. Amid the staff restructuring led by Florentino Pérez, some details still need to be finalized to complete his project.

Mario Cortegana, journalist for The Athletic, reveals that Hakimi is a real option for the white team. The former Real Madrid youth player’s contract ends in 2026 and Paris Saint-Germain wants to extend it, but Madrid are looking at two possible scenarios for the coming months.

Hakimi, Florentino Pérez’s next target

Real Madrid are aiming for a star constellation that will dominate European football over the next decade. In this context, Hakimi could be the successor to Dani Carvajal, 32, who already has a future replacement in mind.

Real Madrid’s plan to sign Hakimi is to take advantage of the player’s contract situation. Should he not renew with PSG, Madrid could sign him at an affordable price given his final year of contract in 2025. However, should the Parisians decide to let him leave as a free agent in 2026, Madrid would be willing to start negotiations with the player and pay a transfer bonus, following the same approach they took when securing Alphonso Davies on the current one followed the market.

With Kylian Mbappé, a close friend of Hakimi, rumored to be moving to Real Madrid, the Madrid club is hoping to attract the Moroccan international as part of their ambitious sporting project.
