What You Need to Know:

An episode from the third season of ‘Game of Thrones’ has revealed the death of Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen. Spoiler alert!

Rhaenyra Targaryen Continues the Fight for the Throne in ‘House of the Dragon’

In the three episodes of the second season, we know that the war has already broken out between the blacks and the greens. However, many are already wondering if Queen Rhaenyra will continue in the story and if we will see her in the third season.

A Spoiler Alert for the Fans

At the beginning of June, HBO announced that ‘House of the Dragon’ will have a third season, and many of us already want to know what will come with it. However, if there is one thing that characterizes the Game of Thrones universe, it is unexpected deaths, especially of memorable characters.

The Death of Rhaenyra Targaryen

The remains of the Targaryen kings are buried in the Great Sept of Baelor, and Joffrey mentions the name of the black queen: "Rhaenyra Targaryen was killed by her brother, or rather by her dragon. She ate it while her son watched." He says mockingly, giving us a pretty big spoiler, but it barely gives us a clue: Rhaenyra will die at the hands of the dragon Sunfyre and by orders of Aegon II.

Will This Event Be the End of the Second Season?

The truth is that it’s not that we’re really surprised to think that Rhaenyra Targaryen could die that way. Because if anything is clear in the Dance of the Dragons, it is that the Targaryens are capable of anything to reach the Iron Throne. For now, it does not seem that the battle between the heir to the throne and the usurper is close, however, it sounds very much like we could see it at the end of the second season or at the beginning of the third. We are not ready to see that scene!
