Decathlon Launches Beachfront Rental Service in Mallorca

Decathlon has exclusively launched a daily rental service with direct delivery to the beach on the island of Mallorca, available until August 31. This initiative offers various kayak and paddle surf packages, enabling visitors to enjoy these water sports conveniently. This launch makes Decathlon the first retailer to introduce such a service.

Accessibility and Proximity

Aligned with its ‘moving people through the wonders of sport’ initiative, Decathlon aims to enhance accessibility and proximity by being present where sports are practiced. Visitors to the beaches of Can Pastilla, Ciudad Jardín, Palmanova, and Santa Ponsa can now immerse themselves in kayaking or paddle surfing adventures thanks to this rental service. To enjoy the service, users can visit Decathlon’s rental website, choose their preferred package, and select the day, time, and place of delivery. Decathlon’s expert team will handle delivery, collection, and equipment maintenance.

Pop-Up Rental Service

In addition to the beachfront rentals, Decathlon has set up its first pop-up location at the Momentum Plaza Leisure Centre, located on the commercial ground floor of the Innside by Meliá Calviá Beach Hotel. Customers can rent kayak and paddle surf equipment for hours or days, with rates starting at 15 euros per hour or 30 euros per day. For kayaking, the rental package includes a kayak, paddles, inflator, and life jacket. Paddle surfers receive stand-up paddles, an inflator, and an optional flotation vest, with an additional electric motor available for 25 euros per day.

Commitment to Circularity

Decathlon has long been committed to circularity, promoting accessibility, sustainability, and offering additional initiatives to its customers. Their ‘Second Life’ service allows customers to buy and sell used sports products, or repair and maintain them through comprehensive workshop services. In 2022, Decathlon also introduced a model for subscription rentals, where customers can pay a monthly fee to rent children’s and adult bicycles.
