According to an article published in the journal Nature Communications, the moon landed on the surface of the moon in December 2020, which collected 1.7 kilograms of soil and rock fragments from the surface of the moon and analyzed them.
This shows that there are about 120 parts per million molecules of water on the rock fragments while the rate of water molecules on some rock fragments was also found to be 180 parts per million.
It should be noted that telescope and satellite observations have also shown that water on the moon is found in rocks in the form of hydroxyl or “H2O”.
Scientists hope that in the future, to colonize the world’s satellites, astronauts will be able to extract molecular oxygen and hydrogen from the atmosphere to produce water and oxygen for themselves.
