Kentucky: Three police officers were killed and four others were injured in a shooting at a police party in the United States on a domestic violence complaint.
According to US media, the incident took place in Allen County Floyd, Kentucky, where a 49-year-old man, Lens Stores, indiscriminately opened fire on a police party on a court order to complete an arrest warrant, killing three policemen. Officers were killed while a trained dog of the police department was killed. Four people, including three officers, were injured in the exchange of fire.
The exchange of fire between the accused and the police lasted for three hours, however, after negotiations, the accused was arrested by the police, after which the police took him into custody.
Police officials say the police party arrived to act on a domestic violence petition filed by a woman.
The accused has been charged with killing two police officers, attempting to kill five officers and a civilian, and brutally torturing an animal.
