NOS was the first operator to commercialize 5G in Portugal. And he says he is focused on applying the potential of technology to the most varied fields, helping to leverage the digital transformation of the country.
As mentioned in the past, the NOS 5G network is being progressively rolled out in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. In this way, it is ensured that more and more Madeirans take advantage of the unique features of 5G and benefit from a new user experience.
NOS celebrates its partnership with Johnson & Johnson MedTech
In a statement, the carrier says healthcare is one of the areas where 5G-driven innovation will be truly transformative. Neste announces a partnership with Johnson & Johnson MedTech, where it implemented a remote support solution for healthcare professionals at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, in Funchal.
This is already fully covered with a 5G network and thus allows the remote assistance solution to establish a 4K high definition video connection between two remotely connected healthcare professionals, using the smart glasses.
It should be noted that this solution allows the use of specialized support at any time, blurring the physical distances between professionals and allowing even greater monitoring of processes. It is already implemented in the Hemodynamics areas and in the Clinical Simulation Center of the Hospital.
As for the system that supports the solution, it is made up of two smart glasses Vuzix and two 5G access points equipped with 5G cards. In addition, the exchange of knowledge and information is carried out with specialists located remotely and who, remotely, interact in real time.
“Thanks to the NOS 5G network, the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, its professionals and its users, now benefit from an innovative solution, with the potential to revolutionize both procedures and medical training”, says Manuel Ramalho Eanes, Director US Executive.
It also highlights that “5G is promoting great technological advances, which will allow a better future for all Portuguese. As a leading company in the delivery of 5G, which creates more value for people, companies and the country, NOS today supports the Autonomous Region of Madeira to build that future.”
