A bizarre incident unfolded in a seaside resort town when a young employee broke into his own workplace, changed clothes twice, and was eventually found fast asleep on top of a refrigeration unit.
The owner of the business, Néstor Regueira, received a call about the alarm going off at his store. When he arrived, he found damage and soon discovered the thief had entered through the roof.
Regueira reviewed the security footage, which showed the individual bursting into the office by breaking through the ceiling. In a surprising twist, the cameras revealed the perpetrator was one of Regueira’s own employees – someone he had been providing housing for due to the employee’s homelessness.
Investigation and Aftermath
When the police arrived, they headed to the employee’s residence, where they recovered the stolen items. The thief had changed outfits during the heist. Later, he was found snoozing on top of a meat cooler.
Regueira noted that the young man had no prior record and had been a problem-free employee until this incident.
