Swara Bhaskar called the attack on Salman Rushdie ‘shameful’ and ‘reprehensible’, made this tweet

Renowned author Salman Rushdie has been assassinated in New York. In this attack during an event, the attacker stabbed Salman Rushdie multiple times with a knife and also hit him. Salman was about to give a lecture on this program, for which he was present on stage, but before the writer could start his lecture, the attacker stabbed Samlan Rushdie. The attacker was immediately arrested. Now, in the meantime, reactions to the attack on the author have also started to arrive.

Film Abhinetri Swara Bhaskar has called the deadly attack on Salman Rushdie reprehensible. Swara tweeted on his official Twitter account and wrote: ‘My prayers for Salman Rushdie. Shameful, reprehensible and cowardly attack! #SalmanRushdieStabbed

In addition to Swara Bhaskar, writer Javed Akhtar has also condemned the attack on Salman Rushdie. Tweeting on his Twitter account, Javed wrote: “I condemn this barbaric attack on Salman Rushdie by some fundamentalists. I hope that the New York police and court will take the strongest possible action against the attacker.”

According to the New York police, a suspect came on stage and attacked Salman Rushdie and the interviewer who was accompanying him. Rushdie was stabbed in the neck after which he was airlifted to hospital. New York Governor Kathy Hochul has also spoken out on this matter. Kathy Hochul said: ‘He (Salman Rushdie) is alive and has been taken to safety. The moderator of the event was also attacked. He is receiving necessary care at the local hospital.
