Supernovas beat Velocity by 4 runs to win the 2022 Women’s T20 Challenge title. Batting first, Supernovas hit a target of 166 runs. In response, the Velocity team was only able to score 161 runs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur pitched an important 43-run inning for Supernovas. While Deandra Dottin scored a strong half century. Laura Wolvaardt posted an undefeated half-century for Velocity.
Shefali Verma and Yastika Bhatia came in to open from Velocity to chase down the target given by Surnovaz. During this, Yastika came out after scoring just 13 runs. While Shefali returned to the pavilion with a personal score of 15 runs. Captain Deepti Sharma came out after scoring just 2 runs. Wolvaardt scored half a century undefeated. He scored 65 runs off 40 balls. His innings included 5 fours and 3 sixes. In this form, Velocity scored 161 runs in 20 overs. Alna King took 3 wickets for Supernovas. He conceded 32 runs in 4 overs.
Previously Supernovas scored 165 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Priya Poonia and Dotin came in to open for the team. Priya scored 28 runs from 29 balls. While Dotin scored 62 runs from 44 balls. His innings included 4 sixes and a four. Captain Harmanpreet scored 43 runs off 29 balls. Harmanpreet hit 3 sixes and a four. Pooja Vastrakar came out after scoring 5 runs. However, the team won the title by taking a thrilling victory.
It is worth noting that prior to this Supernovas won the final match in 2018. The team won by 3 wickets. While in 2019 as well, getting a strong win, he defeated Velocity by 4 wickets. After this Supernovas won the title again by defeating Velocity by 4 runs.
