Sri Lankan all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne suffered a serious injury in the Lanka Premier League match played on Wednesday. In an attempt to catch the catch, Karunaratne injured his face and had to be admitted to hospital. However, Karunaratne’s condition is fine and he is not in any danger. Karunaratne plays for Kandy Falcons and got injured during the fourth game of the league.

The 26-year-old Karunaratne made his international debut in 2019. He has so far played one Test, 18 ODIs and 38 T20 Internationals for Sri Lanka. As well as scoring 22 Test runs, he has also taken a wicket. In ODIs, he has scored 376 runs and has taken 16 wickets. He has scored half a century in ODIs. In T20, 257 runs have come out of Karunaratne’s bat, in which 31 is his highest score. In bowling, he has taken 21 wickets. Taking two wickets for 22 runs has been the best performance from him.

Shikhar Dhawan’s form including Rohit-Virat has raised concerns in the ODIs, the performance of these stalwarts in the last 3 years.
